The
challenge: Create a cosmetic merchandising
system for the new brand that marries the
distinct character of Japan’s Shiseido
Co. Ltd. and Limited Brands’ Intimate
Beauty Corp.
LEDAN, INC. designed a unique blend of
romantic and minimalist styles to create
a distinct Aura Science-branded retail environment.
We exploited the generous space allotment
in the specialty store environment to move
testers from countertop to an integral part
of the architecture. The creation of a foam
core mock-up of the store interior in the
Retail Solution Center, allowed the client
to analyze consumer ergonomics, site lines,
merchandise arrangement, lighting, color,
materials and all other aspects of the shopping
experience. Client top management spent
extensive time at the RSC discussing and
fine-tuning the store concept. Ledan value
engineered the design to reduce the overall
cost by 35%.
