Avon

The challenge: Direct Avon’s first foray into retailLEDAN, INC. worked with the Avon team as a merchandising representative on the retail initiative, helping this direct-sell company gain an understanding of the US retail market.

Design, display and merchandising services include:

Becoming

The challenge: Apply the strategy used from the Avon Kiosk Program to department store installations of the new retail brand, BeComing

LEDAN, INC. worked with the Avon team and Andersen Consulting on the retail marketing program for BeComing. We recommended higher price points for BeComing, based on the Avon Kiosk experience. The incorporation of mass production ideas such as injection molding and common specifications for fixtures to achieve a budget objective
of $60,000 per 900-sq. ft. shop. BeComing was successfully installed in 100 JC Penney doors in 2 weeks.



Avon Trump Tower Spa

The challenge: Reinterpret the BeComing mass department store line in the Fifth Avenue venue

LEDAN, INC. focused on the unique service-oriented qualities of this retail environment to create a visually arresting and upscale presentation.



Aura Science

The challenge: Create a cosmetic merchandising system for the new brand that marries the distinct character of Japan’s Shiseido Co. Ltd. and Limited Brands’ Intimate Beauty Corp.

LEDAN, INC. designed a unique blend of romantic and minimalist styles to create a distinct Aura Science-branded retail environment. We exploited the generous space allotment in the specialty store environment to move testers from countertop to an integral part of the architecture. The creation of a foam core mock-up of the store interior in the Retail Solution Center, allowed the client to analyze consumer ergonomics, site lines, merchandise arrangement, lighting, color, materials and all other aspects of the shopping experience. Client top management spent extensive time at the RSC discussing and fine-tuning the store concept. Ledan value engineered the design to reduce the overall cost by 35%.



Victoria's Secret Beauty

The challenge: “Break the mold” of open sell and department store cosmetic retailing models

LEDAN, INC. developed a unique hybrid of the open sell format and the service-oriented environment of upscale boutiques. We focused on the luxury of the shopping experience versus the efficiency of making the sale. We created a vanity table/boudoir environment where the customer could relax, indulge, explore, utilizing laser production capabilities to provide cost-effective as-needed displays for rollout to additional doors.
